Tullio Jappelli is Professor of Economics at the University of Naples Federico II, and a Research Fellow of the Center for Studies in Economics and Finance (CSEF), the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI, Bruxelles), the Center for Financial Studies (CFS, Francoforte) and a Netspar International Research Fellow. His recent area of research is on saving, portfolio choice, intergenerational transfers, financial information and banking. His work has appeared in leading economic journals, such as AER, QJE, JPE, JF, ReSTAT, JME, EJ, JPubEc and AEJ Macro, Applied and Economic Policy Journals. He has written a book on The Economics of Consumption for Oxford University Press (with L Pistaferri), and edited several books on household finance. He has collaborated with several research projects sponsored by the NBER, the CEPR, the World Bank, the Banque de France, the EU, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Bank of Italy and other institutions.
