Stamatia Ftergioti

Stamatia Ftergioti is a postdoctoral researcher at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Ioannina (2023). Her research interests lie in political economy, with a particular focus on voting behavior, party competition, tax policy and inequality, labor economics, and applied econometrics. Her work has been published in leading academic journals such as the European Journal of Political Economy and Regional Studies.
Stamatia has previously worked as a research assistant at University College Dublin and a teaching assistant at the University of Ioannina. She has also worked as a research trainee and research expert consultant at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Italy. There, she contributed to European projects including Political Discontent, and co-authored the policy report Beyond Averages: Fairness in an Economy that Works for People, published by the Publications Office of the European Union.
