Paris Karypidis holds a PhD in Economics with a focus on applied econometrics and machine learning, along with a BSc and Integrated MSc in Information & Communication Technologies (ICT). His research explores causal inference, forecasting, heterogeneous treatment effects, and policy evaluation, with applications in real estate economics, energy economics, and public policy design. His doctoral work introduced hybrid econometric–machine learning approaches to improve house price forecasting, detect real estate bubbles, and optimize targeted energy-efficiency interventions. He is currently a Software Engineer on the TRAILS project at Democritus University of Thrace, where he leads the development of the TRAILS portal, a platform that centralizes labor market and skills data to support evidence-based decision-making.
