Dr Dimitrios Kousenidis is a Professor of Accounting and Finance at the Department of Business Administration, School of Economics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has served as the Head of the School of Economics (2015 – 2020), as the Head of the Department of Business Administration (2013 – 2015) and as a member of the Administrative Board of the Research Committee of the University (2015 – 2018). He is also an Affiliate Professor of Finance at the Adam Smith School of Business of the University of Glasgow, a visiting Professor of Finance at the Hellenic Open University, and a visiting Professor of Accounting and Finance at the Department of Accounting and Finance of the University of Macedonia. He holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the Aristotle University (1998). He also holds a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) from the University of Glasgow, Scotland (1990) and a BSc in Economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1987). His research interests include financial markets and institutions, accounting information and capital markets, earnings quality, fund performance and IPOs. He has published several research articles in refereed academic journals such as: Journal of Banking & Finance, European Accounting Review, Journal of Financial Stability, Annals of Operations Research, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, International Journal of Accounting, European Journal of Finance, International Review of Financial Analysis, Advances in Accounting, Review of Accounting and Finance, Multinational Finance Journal, Managerial and Decision Economics, Journal of Economic Asymmetries, and Managerial Finance, among others. He has also participated and presented research papers in numerous international conferences such as the Financial Engineering & Banking Society, European Accounting Association, European Financial Management Association, Multinational Finance Society, Hellenic Finance & Accounting Association, etc. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Finance & Accounting Association and member of various professional bodies such as the Multinational Finance Society, the Financial Engineering & Banking Society, and the European Accounting Association among others. He has co-authored two books on Management and Cost Accounting (LA: Greek) and has edited the first Greek editions of the books “Principles of Corporate Finance” (Brealey, R. – Myers, S. – Allen, F.) and “Investments” (Bodie, Z. – Kane, A. – Marcus, A.) His teaching portfolio includes a large number of postgraduate modules (Financial Management, Analysis of Financial Statements, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting and Internal Audit and Risk Analysis) and undergraduate modules (Advanced Accounting, Management and Cost Accounting, Investments, Security Valuation and Portfolio Management, Financial Management).
