The Centre for Studies in Economics and Finance (CSEF) is a research center established in 1998 and currently headquartered at the Department of Economics and Statistics of the University of Naples Federico II. Its mission has been to bolster frontier research in Italy and to strengthen graduate education in economics and finance. In its 25 years of life, CSEF has achieved wide recognition: it currently ranks 6th in the REPEC ranking of economic institutions in Italy, positioning itself as 73rd in Europe and 187th worldwide. In the SSRN rankings of December 2023 for “number of downloads in the last 12 months”, CSEF is 81st in the world and 3rd in Italy. In 2023 the SCIMAGO and Research.com rankings place Federico II between 4th and 5th place in Italy (and 1st in Southern Italy) for research in Economics and Finance.
